Arnold Palmer's first design in Europe, Tralee opened in 1984 on the Atlantic coast near the town of the same name, playing over towering dunes, undulating fairways and cliff-top tees and greens. Palmer reportedly said he designed the front nine, but 'surely God designed the back nine' — a nod to the dramatic, largely untouched coastal terrain the closing holes traverse.
