Mission Hills Haikou — Lava Fields Course

Lava Fields plays 7,475 yards to a par of 72 across Haikou's rugged volcanic terrain, styled in the same raw language as its sibling Blackstone Course but with wider fairways (averaging 50 yards) that push players toward aggressive approach angles into the greens. Brian Curley's design leans into the site's black stone and lava-rock formations, with minimal tree cover and 156 bunkers cut with deliberately crude, rough edges to match the surrounding lava-field landscape. Greens average 6,103 sq ft, with generous rescue and cutting areas around them for recovery play.
