The original and most decorated of Quinta do Lago's three courses, designed by William Mitchell and opened in 1974. Laid out among umbrella pines, lakes and wildflowers on the edge of the Ria Formosa Natural Park, the South Course has hosted the Portuguese Open eight times and was named Europe and Portugal's Best Golf Course by the World Golf Awards in 2024.
