A dramatic clifftop links on the Ayrshire coast facing the Isle of Arran and the Ailsa Craig, from which the course takes its name. Originally laid out in 1906, rebuilt by Mackenzie Ross after WWII military use, and most recently redesigned by Martin Ebert (2015-2016), the Ailsa Course has hosted multiple Open Championships, most famously the 1977 'Duel in the Sun' between Tom Watson and Jack Nicklaus.
